Backetball coaching

Edward LeBlanc
Founder and Skill Developer

I was born and raised in Franklin, Louisiana, where I grew up with a passion for basketball. Being on the court was never forced upon me but rather something I simply enjoyed. When I was young, basketball was all I wanted to do. It was never forced on me. I was just always what I wanted to do. When I was young, Coach Dale Brown said in a speech at one of his camps, "You can do whatever you want to do in life. But it's not going to come and find you; you have to work for what you want."

Growing up in this small town it seemed my work was cutout for me; there were not a lot of options for me to explore playing basketball but luckily for me I had people in my life who were supportive. My parents told me "talk about it, teach it, write about it, read it, just make sure you are involved in doing what you love." My love has always been basketball. When my playing days were over my passion became even stronger. I started coaching teams. I soon found that something was missing, something that connected me more personally with basketball. I felt like I had more to give than just running plays and running drills for an hour and a half twice each week. I believed that I knew how to bring out their potential. I started training players by working in different programs but I still felt there was more I could do, that there was a way to focus and motivate, to gain a player's trust and respect, and challenge them always to push to a higher level of skill.

My goal with Court Sessions is to encourage each athlete's journey to reach their potential, and to help them get ready to handle whatever comes their way. The idea is that you should never stop working for what you want, and what you believe is possible. That's what I do, and that's what I want to help others do.

Court Sessions Philosophy

Here at Court Sessions we believe that every player has a potential inside of them and our goal is to help them reach it; to do this, you have to want to get better and most importantly you have to show up and work without fear to get better. Mistakes are part of our process. At Court Sessions we work not for results, but to master the process; if we can do that, results will take care of themselves. It is not about getting it right, it is about doing it right. Through all of our work on the court and teaching our students the when’s and why’s of the game, we want them to become students of the game; to help them play with more consistently and confidence.
